Welcome to the trial of the HP project!
Hi there, Just today we have given iPAQs to 16 to Curtin students to help us prepare for the August project. So--this is the blog we are going to use to get started during the trial. At the end of this message you'll see a 'Post a comment' link--go on, post a comment--say hello! Tell us how you are going getting your iPAQ out of its box! Beverley

This is aaron, still stuck in technical problems, the companion cd with ActiveSync does'nt load up, where do i download the latest version from?
Hey,
I've found that a lot of the others are having trouble with stuff.
But I have found a really good use for them - e-books, don't have to carry a load of them, you can read them in the dark cause of the backlight and no turning pages.
If we could get some text books on there it would probably be useful for students - Less books = less back injuries. Occupational health and safety :)

I got activesync working, but it didn't quite follow the instructions in the book. By the way, the book is really useful, very easy to understand.
Hello all,
nice idea jailin, yea i had a few probs with the iPAQ but all is sorted now, except one thing. I cant seem to access the internet through the cradle connected to USB, should i try the serial port? or is it my firewall? any ideas guys?

This is cool - I think I've sorted out all the activesync probs now. Was using msn online before. Handwriting messages to my mate in London and having the iPAQ convert it to text...
Hey all,
Math-a-tron signing on :P haha
Ummm, all going well!
Wireless network at home works a treat, made 1 update to the manual but the rest seems to be pretty good :)

PS. does anyone know why if we make it through to mentor's we get a TabletPC instead of one of these? Not really complaining but ;)

The Tablet PC will have all the functionality of the PDA, and will also allow you to use it as a laptop -- hence, mentors will be able to use it to respond to blogs, communicate with first years students in the HP Project in Semester 2, and so on. (Seng)

Franco, remember that you need to get the new Active Sync off the website (the version on the CDROM is a bit buggy). Details are in the user manual (bound book) that was provided at the induction.
Hey guys,
Just got my ipaq- haven't had much time to play around with trying to set it up and all.
Does anyone know how to use the internet when connected through the cradle??
Cheers
